Considered the forgotten borough of New York City, Staten Island is a gem amongst its more infamous neighbours. With a charm all its own, this city within a city could even be called the Big Apple’s best-kept secret!
As with anywhere you go, out-of-towners will have a lot to learn from Staten Island locals. Start your day with a ferry to shore, where you’ll have an unobstructed view of Lady Liberty. Next, check out the wildlife refuge at Brady’s Pond Park and revel in a traditional Italian meal at Enoteca Maria. Historic Richmond Town offers a look back at the borough’s history, complete with preserved buildings and NYC’s oldest working farm. Pop in to see the metal sculptures at Lenny’s Creations and wrap up your evening with a beer and bite at Killmeyer’s Bavaria Inn. Spend a day wandering through the Island’s many neighbourhoods, topping off your stay with a stop at a local fitness center to burn off that extra steam. We’ll see you here.
